Calonge is a pretty village with a small selection of restaurants, and is just a two-minute drive from the beaches, resort and marina of Cala D'Or. It's all-round natural beauty makes Calonge one of the most sought after areas in Mallorca. There is a medical centre, excellent cake shops and is home to some wondeful patron festivals. Bar Telefonos offers live music on a Saturday evening and there are several superb restaurants.

Calonge is a small hamlet very close to S'Horta and Cala D'Or and is home to five hundred residents. According to local legend, when king Jaume I passed this spot it reminded him of the village of Calonge in the Empordà region of Catalonia, and he thus bestowed it with this name.
