As a villa holiday destination, Lagos is perfect, and offers something for everyone - there's long stretches of sandy beach and tiny coves for the sun-worshipper, fantastic golf courses, tennis, horse riding and a choice of watersports for the sports enthusiast, and plently of great sites to see, including the 17th century moated fortress overlooking the harbour, for the history-lover.
Lagos has some of the most stunning beaches in the Algarve - from tiny coves to long stretches of sand - these include the uncrowded, small town beach of Lagos, and, to the west of Lagos is Praia de Dona Ana, the Algarve's most photogenic beach.
It is a town where you can spend hours strolling round the shops on the picturesque cobbled streets, pausing for a refreshing Portuguese beer or a coffee in sun-baked squares.
