A great holiday home in Pollença's historic old town. Casa Irina is in a superb location: in a quiet street looking across woodland and mountains, yet still just a short walk from Pollença's main square.
The house is full of light, space and character. Its design is a contemporary take on Mallorcan style - with white walls, cool tiled floors, and traditional dark-wood furniture. All the rooms are at first-floor level with a staircase leading up from ground level.
There's a lovely sunny lounge and dining room with a beamed ceiling, white walls and bright spotlighting. There are traditional rocking chairs as well as a dining table and chairs and two dressers. There's also satellite tv and a dvd and cd stereo. Next to the lounge there's a cloakroom wc bathroom.
The kitchen leads out to a lovely terrace, looking out on to woods and mountains. It's a neat and well designed room with lots of storage space in white cupboards with marble worktops. Appliances here include a dishwasher, a washing machine and a separate 'dispenser' pantry area.
The first-floor terrace is a great space, with stuccoed walls and terracotta-tiles. It has beautiful lush green views over the garden and pool and across to palms, fruit trees and mountains beyond. Steps lead down from here to the pool and garden. And there's a pool shower-bathroom on the terrace too for after a swim.
There are three bedrooms: a double room, and two twin rooms. The double room is particularly lovely, with an antique bed and an en-suite bathroom with an extra-large shower. There's a third bathroom at the house too - a family bathroom with a bath and a shower. All the bedrooms have lots of storage space and fresh linens in pale colours. They are also all air-conditioned. And the bedrooms and the lounge are heated for early spring and late autumn holidays.
The garden is a great relaxing space. The pool is surrounded by a sun terrace and a lawn, and there are lots of colourful Mediterranean plants - hibiscus, lemons, cacti and roses. It's also a child-friendly space with a gate to keep it separate from road level.
Casa Irina is a very pretty holiday home in a quiet spot on the edge of the old town but still very close to all the historic sites. The main square is a short walk away and so you can be in the shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in a just a couple of minutes. There's lots of easy parking at the house and it's a very easy drive to Puerto Pollença and the beach, and into the beautiful countryside around Pollença itself.
