Holiday villas in Portugal
A villa holiday in Portugal means staying in one of Europe’s warmest countries. Regardless of where you are, you can expect summer temperatures to be above 30°C (35°C in the South) which means our range of coastal resorts are perfect for your stay. You can spend a day at the beach, taking a dip in the Atlantic whenever you feel like cooling off, or hire one of our many villas with swimming pools.
Along with its great climate, Portugal has an absolute wealth of beaches. With over 850 kilometres of coastline, there are a lot of Portuguese beaches to discover, but our villas in Portugal put you within easy reach of some of the best. Portugal is one of the best locations in Europe for a beach holiday when you take a look at what the country can offer holiday makers. Whether you want to take advantage of the beach-bars for a drink, try your hand at some water sports (surfing, jet-skiing, kite-surfing and windsurfing are common activities) or just lounge on the sand, Portugal can provide the perfect place for you to do so.
If you’d rather spend all or part of your holiday delving into Portugal’s rich history and culture, then there are plenty of cities and towns throughout the country which offer not only a rich variety of monuments, museums and other places of interest, but also some fantastic views; Portugal is an absolutely beautiful country with plenty to offer the sightseer. There are also large areas of the country that allow the local wildlife to roam undisturbed, and any nature-lovers are sure to enjoy a trip to Peneda-Gerês, the Duoro Valley and Serra da Estrela.
There’s also Portugal’s golf. Recent years have seen the country become a great destination for fans of the sport, with plenty of Portugal’s golf courses ranking amongst the best in Europe. Not only are the courses great for experts and newcomers alike, but they’re also designed to allow you to enjoy Portugal’s wonderful landscape and views.
Another advantage of our villas in Portugal is being able to take advantage of some of Portugal’s festivals, especially the Festival do Sudoeste in the south of the country, which takes advantage of the long stretches of beach and excellent landscapes to put on one of Portugal’s most famous and well-received festivals.
If you’ve got an interest in fashion, then a holiday at our villas in Portugal can be a great chance to pick up some of Portugal’s finest offerings. Fairs are the perfect place to pick up unique, handcrafted items, including purses, clothes, glass ornaments and more. There are also some great fashion houses, well-known inside Portugal, that you can find dedicated shops for, or in some of the fashion shops in towns and cities.
Food fans will find themselves spoilt for choice during a villa holiday in Portugal. Soup might not sound like an adventurous dish, but the Portuguese have turned soup-making into an art form. You’ll find soups made of fish, sausages, chicken and all sorts of other ingredients, often as the first course to the rest of a delicious meal. The grilled chicken, sardines, veal and pork are all mainstays in Portuguese restaurants. There are also a huge selection of pork, beef, seafood and even wild boar dishes that can be found in restaurants throughout the country. During the meal, Portugal’s famous wines are the perfect accompaniment, and a port wine is a great post-meal drink.
