Fantasporto Film Festival

Film fans staying in villas in Portugal are in for a treat this February 20^th as the Fantasporto film festival is taking place in locations across Porto.

The festival makes for a perfect activity for those on villa holidays, especially with its broadening in scope over the last couple of years. The festival originally focused on fantasy and science-fiction, but in recent years it’s expanded its bounds into other genres.

Originally founded by the magazine Cinema Novo, the festival has worked hard to introduce viewers to a number of up and coming film-makers. The festival also has an official Competitive Section, still true to its fantasy and science-fiction roots, where new films get to compete for a prize.
