Loulé Town Carnival

If you’re lucky enough to be on one of the many villa holidays in Portugal this February, then there’s a great chance to experience some fantastic carnival fun.

Starting this February 19^th, the streets of Loulé will be letting rip with a series of exciting parties and festival fun. The 3 day long carnival celebrates life in the town with music, dancing, delicious foods and parades featuring elaborately decorated floats and people in fancy dress.

Loulé’s town carnival started back in 1906 and has been an annual event for the town since then. The festivities make for the ideal activity for those looking for something a little different while staying in one of the many villas in Algarve. If you do decided to go its worth arriving early though, as the centre of the town is shut off for the carnival and finding a parking space can take a while.
