Mallorca’s Black Pudding Festival

Each year, on the first Sunday of October, the island of Mallorca celebrates the ‘Torrada d’es Butifarró’ or Festival of the Black Pudding. The main celebrations take place in the town of Sant Joan.

This year, the date for the fiesta will be the 7^th of October and, once again, the event is sure to be a busy and extremely popular day out. Sausages of all types will be cooked and prepared during the day, offering tasty treats to those that are hungry and inquisitive to get a true taste of traditional Mallorca cooking.

There will be a competition for the best black pudding with the winner receiving a trophy from the organisers, there will also be plenty of live music and street performers, all adding to the atmosphere.

This really is an event not to be missed during a villa holiday on the Balearic Island, especially if you are a lover of food!
