Portuguese airline sees record month

One of Portugal’s airlines has announced that last month it saw a record month for passenger numbers travelling to the country.

The airline is the state-owned TAP Air Portugal and has released figures showing that passenger numbers saw an increase of 3% during August, bringing the amount of visitors to 1.07 million. Europe, Africa and the US’s recent strong growth are thought to be the main contributors for traffic, both to and from. 

The figures are also testimony to how popular Portugal has become as a holiday destination, with its Algarve region being one of the most highly regarded villa holiday destinations in Europe.

The news is certainly good for both those in the travel industry and those seeking holidays in the country, and with so many great villas in Portugal available, there has never been a better time to visit.
