Rafael Nadal goes undercover in Mallorca for TV stunt

Visitors to Mallorca recently may have rubbed shoulders with one of tennis’s biggest stars without even knowing it as the sportsman went undercover as a receptionist for a day at a golf club in Mallorca.

Rafael "Rafa" Nadal was filmed as part of a hidden camera stunt for Pokerstars, whose world championship tournament he is planning to enter next year. The tennis star was filmed meeting and greeting visitors to the Vall D’Or Golf club whereupon his bluffing techniques were put to the test with help from his poker coach.

Several customers immediately recognised Nadal and asked the sportsman if it was him, with one couple commenting upon the resemblance and getting the reply, “People have often said that. But, no, I’m not him”.

The former world number one recently missed the US Open and the London Olympics due to a knee injury, but showed he was still in good spirits as he mingled with visitors.
