While the famous Sóller Train celebrated its 100th birthday last year, 2013 offers the chance for another famous transport service on the island to commemorate its centenary.
Since 1913, the Sóller Tram has been transporting locals and visitors between Sóller and the Port of Sóller, allowing people to stop at places of interest along the way. The only service of its kind on the island, it also offers the only public transport between the town centre and the harbour area. It is a popular draw for tourists, with over one million estimated as using it every year.
Although the official programme of times isn’t expected to become available until February, there is no doubt that the Sóller Tram will be running regularly throughout its centenary year. Described as one of the finest experiences on the island, why not discover the tram for yourself if you happen to be staying in any of the villas in Mallorca in the coming months?
