The credibility of golfing opportunities in Mallorca has been further praised after two of its finest courses were included in the second edition of the Rolex Top 1000 golf courses.
The list is considered to be the compilation of the finest fairways to be found on the planet, with over 32,000 to choose from. With only 23 golf courses across the whole of Spain being included in the coveted list, it is fantastic news that two of those can be found on Mallorca.
The first is Golf Alcanada, largely considered as the finest golf course on the island and the only to consistently follow the beautiful coastline, offering sublime views across the bay of Alcudia. The second is the Golf Son Gual, a €30million course which has hosted a catalogue of tournaments including the 2008 European Senior tour. It is also a hotspot for celebrities, with Rafael Nadal, Jamie Redknapp and Boris Becker just some of those who have teed off in the past.
With 24 golf courses found on the island, it comes as no surprise that villas in Mallorca prove so popular with golfers throughout the year.
