Visitors to the Tate Modern will get a wonderful taste of Spain this year as the gallery hosts the first British exhibition of the Spanish artist Joan Miró’s work in over fifty years. The Artist whose artwork was created and envisioned in his Villa in Majorca was well known for his harsh self criticism which saw him destroy many of his own works of art during his lifetime.
The exhibition began April 14th and will run to the 11th of September. Critics have already speculating on just how exciting and enthralling the event will be for art lovers and in particular enjoyers of his surrealist style of painting.
The Island of Majorca, where Miró found much of his inspiration, has been the catalyst for many other artists such as Costa I Llobera and Guillem Sagrera. Many artists to this day choose to infuse and invoke their artistic talents whilst staying in Majorca Villas to try and capture the mysticism of the island.
