Portugal is the most westerly country in Europe and can boast some of the most stunning landscape in the whole continent. It enjoys, on average, 3000 hours of sunshine a year, making it not only a gloriously warm place to lie back and relax but also a lush a fertile region full of fruit orchards and rolling green hills.

Portugal is a great place to enjoy some wet and wild watersports like scuba diving, snorkelling and wind surfing. Albufeira Holiday Resort

Albufeira is the most popular resort in the whole of the Algarve and after just a brief look at the sun drenched, rugged coastline of sandy coves you can see why. There are two main parts to the resort. The first is the marina, which is the ideal place to pick up some fresh locally caught fish and enjoy a walk along the promenade to look at all the proud yachts and fine sailing boats that moor up there throughout the year. The second is the old town of Albufeira and it is in this area that you will find the majority of our gorgeous Portugal villas. The quaint narrow streets, lined with traditional white washed fisherman's cottages give this town a quintessentially European feel; the perfect place to relax into a simpler, more tranquil way of life.

The stunning coastline of the Algarve, including Albufeira beach, is the key reason for this resort's extraordinary appeal with visitors. With over 20 miles of rugged, ochre coloured cliffs overlooking more than twenty gorgeous little sandy coves and the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea leading off to the horizon, it is the sort of idyllic landscape most of us only dream about. As well as the wealth of watersports available in this region there is also plenty of activities to keep you busy. Children and teenagers will love the Zoo Marine centre near our villas in Gale beach, the English language cinema in Guia, the Aqua Land waterpark and Crazy World theme park, which offers krazy golf, a fairground, a petting farm, pony rides and live reptile shows. The Algarve also has a number of stables and your representative at Villa Parade will be happy to book you a horse riding lesson or trek around the beautiful Portuguese countryside.

Golf fans will be in their element in the Algarve. With nearly twenty golf courses in this region alone, and perfect year-round golfing conditions, it is no wonder so many fans and fanatics flock to these shores for a round during their holiday.

Now, no holiday would be complete without at least a little bit of shopping and in the Algarve you'll find plenty. Whether you fancy a wander around the cobbled streets of Albufeira's old town, a spot of clothes shopping within the resort itself or picking up some of the local handicrafts at the market, you'll be sure to bring home some fabulous finds. Popular souvenirs include the handmade lace and woven baskets, often made by local tradespeople right in front of you.

Albufeira has a busy nightlife. Long evening meals tend to turn into late night drinks in the resort's many bars. However, if you want to get your dancing shoes on, the hub of nightlife activity can be found on what is known affectionately as 'the strip', which is lined with bars, restaurants, English-style cafes and nightclubs. With Albufeira's long hot evenings and such a choice of places to visit you will be sure to be tempted to stay out far past your bedtime.

Portugal villas in Vale de Parra

We also have a number of gorgeous Portugal villas in the Vale de Parra region. This area is famed for its breathtaking beaches and glorious, rugged coves. We have some stunning properties by the golden bay of Gale Beach and Costello Beach, which is described by many experts as the best cove beach in the whole of the Algarve. The beaches of Vale de Parra are smaller and more secluded than the sandy stretch of Albufeira beach, making them much loved by locals and visitors alike. This area is seen by many as a peaceful, tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle along the coast. It has a really laid back feel, but within the villages of traditional white washed houses you will still find sensational restaurants, serving the traditional piri piri chicken and other local delicacies.

A lot of this area is still very rural, so it is the perfect place to make use of your totally inclusive, free hire car. Go off and explore the rolling green hills and local vineyards (we can even organise a private tour of air Cliff Richard's own vineyard for you) or zoom over to the famous Salgados golf course.
